September 21, 2006: WALKING TOUR: Broad Street Highlights
1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Re-Discover Newark: Explore its architecture, history, and importance as an American city since 1666.

Join us for a walking tour of downtown Newark, highlighting some of the treasures of Broad Street. Buildings such as the National Newark Building, City Hall, Prudential and Symphony Hall have all been instrumental in the development of Newark’s primary business district. See historic photographs of Broad Street in the 1800s and early 1900s from the NJHS collections.

No reservations required for tours. Tours are free, but donations are accepted. Tours will run rain or shine and begin in the lobby of NJHS.

All programs are subject to change. Please call ahead to bring a group. 973-596-8500.
