Summary:

Letters written to Vail during his tenure as a New Jersey circuit court judge assigned to the counties of Hudson, Union, and Somerset.  Most are letters of congratulation upon his appointment to this judicial post.  Prior to his appointment to the circuit court, this native of Woodbridge had served in the State Assembly and State Senate and as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Union County.
