412.   GARRISON, LINDLEY M. (1864-1932), U. S.      Secretary of War.

            Papers, 1913-16. 225 items.

          Born in Camden, Garrison practiced law in New York City and

       served in Woodrow Wilson's first cabinet. The bulk of this collection consists of his correspondence, press releases, and memoranda

       as Secretary of War. Among the topics covered are the state of

       military preparedness, troop movements on the Mexican border,

       the opening of the Panama Canal, and the early years of World

       War I.

          Gift of the Bernard and Rose Berg Memorial Fund, 1958.
