        Correspondence and documents of Benjamin, Joseph, and

      Beverly Chew, members of a politically prominent Pennsylvania

      family, as well as of James Alexander; William Alexander, Lord

      Stirling; William Duer; Nathanael Greene; Benjamin Lincoln;

      William Paterson (1 745- 1806); Baron Friedrich Wilhelm von

      Steuben; and George Washington. Includes the autobiography of

      Beverly Chew (1794- 1844), Vice-Consul to Russia under President

      James Madison and Collector of the Port of New Orleans. Indexed

      in the manuscripts catalog.
