Brinckerhoff, was born in September of 1796 in Mount Hope, New Jersey.  She was raised on the family homestead called Hybla Hill in Parsippany, New Jersey.  She attended Miss Scribner’s School in Morristown during her childhood and married Dr. Stephen Fairchild on May 18, 1818, with whom she had two children: Richard Van Wyck Fairchild and Eliza S. Fairchild.  Euphemia (Brinckerhoff) Fairchild died on June 20, 1882 in Parsippany.
