Summary:

Sermons and sermon notes; Fourth of July oration for 1786; certificate appointing Abeel's son Gustavus Abeel (1791-1887) pastor of the Second Protestant Reformed Dutch Church of Newark in 1849.  Reverend John N. Abeel was a graduate of the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University) and a student of John Witherspoon.  He served as a Dutch Reformed minister in New York City from 1795 until his death.
