Papers, 1847-1883, 77 items

Chiefly letters of a Newark, New Jersey resident to his mother and sisters and letters received while he served ninety day in Company F of the First Infantry Regiment New Jersey Brigade, April 30, 1861-July 31, 1861.  Also letters of friends and relatives to Gorgas' mother, Elizabeth Gorgas, and a letter written by John Lenhart Gorgas to his wife while he was residing in the Morris Plains Insane Asylum in 1883.
