1242. ELLIS, HUDSON S. (1815-1874). Notary Public, Conveyancer,

      Commissioner of Deeds.

      Ledger, 1848-1874, 1 vol.

 

   The account book reflects Ellis' wide-ranging business interests, illustrating his involvement with postal delivery, carting of goods, repairs of market wagons and sleighs, and his sale of watches, livestock and lumber.  Ellis was a broker, real estate agent who ran a loan office in Bordentown, N.J.  The ledger includes accounts with Franklin Hall Association of Crosswicks, the Bordentown Bank, the Post Office Department, and Trenton First National Bank.
