Archives Documents, Manuscripts, Maps, & PhotographsManuscript Group 1265, Cooper Family Papers, 1865 - 1922, 0.5 linear feet Call Number: MG 1265 Cooper Family papers include those of William Henry Cooper (1808-1880), Presbyterian minister of Wampsville, New York for 23 years; his son, Dr. Edward Payson Cooper (1847-1936); and his grandson, William Orchard Cooper (b. 1882). Dr. Cooper, a graduate of the College of New Jersey (now Princeton, 1868), practiced medicine in Paterson, Whippany and Parsippany, NJ, and was the organist and choir director at the First Presbyterian Church in Boonton, NJ for 21 years. Collection includes Dr. Edward P. Coopers grades and class listings from the College of New Jersey, and a handwritten Thesis on the Blood for his medical degree from the University of New York (1870-1871 session). Also included are song and organ recital programs for concerts in which he and his wife, Harriet Orchard Cooper, participated; William H. Coopers scrapbook, 1833-1904, comprised of nineteenth-century religious newspaper clippings, stories and poems, concert programs, commuter and theater ticket stubs, and correspondence; and William O. Coopers graduating thesis United States Expansion (1900), family photographs and other memorabilia. Gift of Leona Levy Moore in memory of Betty Cooper, 1985.
