Negative Collection, ca. 1900-ca. 1925, approx. 1000 negatives

Call Number: MG 1535

Approximately 1000 glass plate negatives taken by Louis Yager in the early 20th century.  Yager, a stationery store owner and amateur photographer, photographed sites in East Orange, New Jersey, where he lived.  The collection also includes images from various vacations taken throughout New Jersey and elsewhere.

Provenance Note:

This collection was donated by Robert Reed in July of 2001.  After Louis Yager's death, his son deposited the materials with Reed, a neighbor.  Upon hearing of Yager's son's death, Reed unsuccessfully attempted to locate the family and afterwards donated the collection to The New Jersey Historical Society.
