Dr. Leo Liztky was an educator and principal of several Newark, New Jersey schools including West Kinney Junior High School, Cleveland Junior High School, Webster Junior High School, West Side High School, and South Side High School (later Malcolm X. Shabazz High School). His career spanned from the 1940s to the 1970s. He lived in Newark until 1971 when he moved to West Orange.

Included in the collection are newspaper sections and clippings pertaining to various Newark high schools and labor issues in NJ. There are also writings on teachers' salaries, commission reports, school surverys, speech transcripts and graduation programs. Of particular interest are the clippings, promotional material, and newsletters concerning the Newark Teachers Union strike of 1970-1971.
