John Sullivan seems to have been a Quakertown and Newark, NJ based merchant in the 1840s who sold many different types of items.

Scope and Content Note
This collection contains the April 1843 account book of John Sullivan. The account book contains information with customer names and fees charged for such items as castor oil, bowls, lamps, cloth, shoes, molasses and numerous other items. Also, included are sales of liquor such as brandy and gin. Customers listed include such notable names as Ballantine and Lippincott.
