How To Get to The New Jersey Historical Society

By car: A system of road signs leads directly to the Historical Society. From the NJ Turnpike take Exit 15W to 280 West. From the Garden State Parkway and Routes 24,78, and 280, take the Newark exit marked Downtown/Arts. Follow the purple signs directly to The New Jersey Historical Society.

From the South (From Philadelphia and Southwestern New Jersey)
From the North and East (From Northeastern New Jersey and New York City)
From the West (From Western and Northwestern NJ)
Parking: Unreserved wheelchair accessible visitor parking is available for a fee in the adjacent Military Park Underground Garage. Enter from Center Street or Park Place.

By Public Transportation: Use New Jersey Transit for a comfortable and quick ride to Newark. Trains and buses into Newark's Penn Station and Broad Street Station travel to and from all New Jersey destinations and New York City's Penn Station on a convenient schedule. From either station, you can easily take the Newark Light Rail to get to the Center Street - NJPAC stop, located just 1 block from the Historical Society.
