Clubs gathered at various places in the state; here the Turnpike Bowling League hit the lanes in Jersey City. The various photographs highlight members and teams, including one manned by Howard Johnson employees. Number six shows “Ed Walsh, who came up from Deepwater to bowl”—something of a trek, given he would have started out at the southernmost point of the Turnpike, near the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Anything for Turnpike friendship!
